Since 1991, every third full weekend in February the main street of Paeroa – State Highway 2 – has been closed as riders from around New Zealand and overseas converged on this small and otherwise quiet Hauraki town. With bikes reaching speeds of up to 260km per hour, this is street racing at it's best!
There are 11 classes that run throughout the day:
- Post Classics Pre '82
- Formula 2
- Junior Classics
- Senior Classics
- Formula Paeroa
- Post Classic Sidecars
- Post Classic Pre '89
Practice starts at 8.15 am until 11 am approximately. The circuit will be opened for the public to cross at the discretion of the Clerk of the Course. Spectators will have about five minutes to cross the circuit.
From approximately 11.30 am onwards, the circuit will be open to the public to cross at the discretion the Clerk of the Course. Spectators will have about five minutes to cross the circuit.
Inside the circuit
Excellent viewing, stalls and numerous outlets, two clubs open, toilets everywhere, places to shelter from the sun, places to picnic, supervised motorcycle parking.
Outside the circuit
Free parking for bikes, cars and buses. Overnight camping area with food, beverages and toilets.
Free parking is available at the Domain (off King St), the Soccer Fields (on Rotokohu Rd) and West Rugby Club Rooms. Motorbike parking is available on the Stop bank or at the Railway Reserve.
Camping is available at the West Rugby Club Rooms or at the RV Centre on Coronation St
