Did you know the Hauraki District has the highest GDP growth in the country at 3.8% compared to a national average of just 0.4%?
At our July BA5 we heard from ๐๐ผ๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ฟ, ๐๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ & ๐๐๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐๐ ๐ฆ๐๐ฝ๐ฝ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ ๐๐ผ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ธ๐ถ ๐๐ถ๐๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ ๐๐ผ๐๐ป๐ฐ๐ถ๐น and she gave us a lot of info on how the council supports our district on the business and economic front.
Here are four key areas that directly support local businesses:
*Business Support
Connecting businesses with resources through Soda Inc., Destination Hauraki Coromandel, the Hauraki Rail Trail, business associations, and council teams. If you need a connection, Lou can help make it.
*Event Support
Helping events run safely, sustainably, and legally and removing barriers where possible. Lou supports volunteer committees, and helps identify opportunities for new events in the region.
*Grants and Funds
Lou helps businesses and community groups access district funding including the Community Development Fund, Creative Communities Scheme, discretionary grant funding, and the public arts fund. That money exists to stay in our region.
*Employment with Great Job Hauraki
A focus on connecting local youth with local employment opportunities.
Our district has amazing assets around lifestyle, tourism, boutique business, and events. Lou’s role is to help make the most of them.
